Sold house prices by postcode and address
Every recorded residential sale in England and Wales is published by HM Land Registry — the price paid, the completion date, the tenure and the property type. Address Lens keeps that sold price history alongside the property's EPC, flood, planning and area evidence, so one search answers "what did it sell for?" and "what's changed since?" together.
What the sold price history shows
- Every recorded sale for the address — price, month and year of completion.
- Tenure — whether the sale was freehold or leasehold.
- Property type — detached, semi-detached, terraced or flat.
- Street context — how the sale sits against other sales on the same street and postcode.
How to check sold prices for an address
- Search a postcode, a full address including its postcode, or a UPRN.
- Open the property's report to see its full price paid history in context.
- Compare against nearby sold properties before you rely on any single figure.
Timing and coverage: Land Registry releases price paid data monthly, so a recent completion can take several weeks to appear. Scotland and Northern Ireland are published separately and are not covered. Some transactions — such as right-to-buy sales and transfers not at full market value — are excluded from the standard dataset.
Sold price ≠ value today
A historic sale tells you what a buyer paid then, not what the property is worth now. Condition, improvements, tenure changes and the wider market all move the number. Treat the history as evidence for a conversation — with an agent, surveyor or lender — rather than a valuation.
